#11 Chateau St. Jean

Chateau St. Jean is a european style winery showcasing castle like architecture, a meticulously manicured landscape, and endless acres of dazzling vineyards. Pack your picnic basket with one of Chateau St.Jean's delicious $35 box lunches which can be enjoyed underneath a shaded area of picnic tables within the fountain garden. For those with a more refined palate, Chateau St. Jean offers a privately grouped Charcuterie tasting, priced at $55 a person with a minimum of 10 people. Bocce ball is also available on the grounds.
#10 La Cucina's at VJB Vineyards & Cellars
60 Shaw Ave., Kenwood
VJB Vineyards & Cellars is a tuscan inspired courtyard marketplace owned by the Belmonte Family. Lying within these alluring grounds is a delectable deli known as La Cucina's where you can pick up some of the county's best sandwiches for your picnic. The marketplace also features a Red Rooster Pizza Salon, the Kenwood Pasta Company, and a gelato shop all anchored by a large wine tasting room. We recommend the white bean salad or cheese and salami boards adorned with fruits, nuts, olives, and crostini. Guests are welcomed to sip wine and snack on an assortment of goodies in the courtyard patio piazza. Opera singers are known to serenade the crowd every now and then from a second story balcony.

#6 Landmark Vineyards at Hop Kiln Estate
6050 Westside Road, Healdsburg
Landmark Vineyards at Hop Kiln Estate is rich in winegrowing history and located in the dead center of the Russian River Valley. This iconic winery has been thriving with grapes since the late 1800s allowing the tasting room to be preserved as a historical landmark. However, you may choose from either indoor or outdoor tasting experiences within this vastly expansive vineyard. We highly recommend trying the limited-production, house-made chardonnay and pinot noir. Landmark Vineyards at Hop Kiln Estate also offers a large assortment of local cheese and charcuterie to build your very own picnic pairing.
#5 Dry Creek Vineyard
3770 Lambert Bridge Road, Healdsburg
Dry Creek Vineyard is a family owned winery offering breathtaking picnic grounds. On your way to the winery make sure to pick up picnic provisions from the Dry Creek General Store unless you plan to attend a Private Wine Flight and Picnic Lunch (available from May until September). The experience includes a box lunch from a seasonal menu paired with a Dry Creek Vineyard Wines tasting, of course. You must book this tour 48 hours in advance and the price is $40 per person with a 2 person minimum and 10 person max.
#4 Ram's Gate Winery
28700 Arnold Drive, Sonoma
Ram's Gate is a hilltop winery offering some of the best views in Sonoma. Plus, the property's patio of picnic tables is positioned perfectly to overlook the grand vineyard. Nature lovers will simply adore the private Carneros Estate Picnic for two which begins with a guided wine tasting where you select two of your favorite wines to pair with a pre-packed picnic lunch. Your bottles of choice will be tucked into a wicker basket filled to the bring with mouth watering delicacies. A personal valet with then guide you through the meandering vineyards to picnicker's paradise where your picnic will be set up for you! Picnics are available in limited quantities due to weather and seasonal restrictions. Reservations are required and price is $175 per couple. Larger groups are welcomed to join the three-hour Vineyard Table Experience where you will dine with a sommelier in the vineyard itself. This guided tour is $250 per person for up to 10 guests.

The Gundlach-Bundschu Winery provides a uniquely beautiful setting as its wonderful Vista Courtyard sits beneath olive trees overlooking a sizeable pond. During the summer months, Gundlach-Bundschu Winery offers seated wine tasting within the courtyard where you can picnic as you sip on selected flights. Reservations are encouraged.

Cline Cellars allows visitors to reserve picnic tables throughout their delicately landscaped grounds with views of vineyards, old estates, ponds, as well as wildlife like turtles, birds, and donkeys. Each reservation costs $10 for up to two hours with the purchase of a bottle of Cline Wine. Every table seats eight! Post meal we recommend viewing the museum room featuring California's original missions.

In 1904, Samuele Sebastiani founded the Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery. In 1979, Mark Lyon was appointed as lead winemaker. Ever since the winery has been providing concentrated and complex wines from several different tiers within the Sonoma County Selection. Take the tour, Tasting & Vintner's Picnic Lunch Box, at Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery! It includes a wine tasting, casual picnic lunch, and guided tour of the historic winery all for $55.
